Style Guide :
What to wear to your photo session
I LOVE when clients ask me what they should wear to their session! It's one of my most asked questions!
I love being asked this question because what you wear really helps to make the photo! THE COLOR, THE PATTERN, HOW YOU COORINATE THEM will all have a huge impact on the photo. This is equally important as your location. Here are some tips that i think you will find helpful for your next portrait session.
*Tip 1: Be Comfortable in your outfit...Including your shoes!
*Tip 2: Don't Match- COORDINATE : If one of you wants to wear a pattern (Flannel etc) , then maybe chose a solid color to go along with it from the pattern for another one to wear.
*Tip 3: Pick a color pallete but keep your location in mind-Pinterest can help with this
*Tip 4: if weather allows use layers (scarves, sweaters, jackets, etc)
*TIP 5: Accessories- Hats, Glasses, Jewelry etc. This is a great way to add visual interest and textures to your photos.
Tip 6: Search pinterest for ideas!!
THINGS TO AVOID:
* LARGE LOGOS or TSHIRTS with LARGE WRITING
*OVERLY MATCHED
*Hair ties on wrists
DURING THE SHOOT: Dont carry anything on you that you dont want seen in your photos (aka phone etc).
The exception of this would be for proposals. A little helpful tip... You can put the ring box in your sock until its time to get down on one knee to help with a ring box being seen in your pants pocket!
